All Dam Busters are engineered to meet or exceed AS/NZS3500.3 with a certified overflow capacity of at least 16 litres per second on every model, but down pipe sizes and configurations will vary and also need to be taken into account when determining normal flow rates and suitability for each installation.
To start off, please use the table on the right to determine the right Dam Buster for your job; also see the design guide below. In general, 200mm and 300mm Dam Buster models are more than adequate for even a large domestic house with the 400mm, 500mm and 600mm models more suitable for commercial applications.
NOTE: Dam Busters have been designed in specific sizes to suit box gutter widths of 200mm, 300mm, 400mm, 500mm and 600mm only. This ensures that each Dam Buster is fully compliant and can be relied on to work even in extreme conditions. For that reason we don't make custom models or custom sizes except for Architects and Designers who want to incorporate the innovative Dam Buster features into a unique feature piece of rain head art for equally unique buildings.
Choosing the right size box gutter to suit your Dam Buster is also extremely important; box gutters to suit your Dam Buster must be correctly sized according to AS/NZS3500.3. Don't forget that bigger is not necessarily better and bigger also costs a lot more to build. If you are not sure, speak to your Hydraulic Engineer for more information about correct box gutter sizing.
